You can never be more powerful than when you release good to whom it is due. Many years ago, I was privileged to become the president of an organization and as I was coming onboard, the previous leader was departing. Me being the person that I was, I asked the question, “How are we going to honor her for her service rendered to God for the past year?” I must say that for the most part, just about all who were in the room had that deer in the head lights stare. Or if you are from Georgia…they were looking at me like a cow staring at a new fence! I must say that I was stunned. I automatically assumed that all who were present would be delighted to simply do what was right. I prayed, inwardly, a quick prayer and asked the Lord for guidance. Almost instantly I heard, Proverbs 3:27. I opened my bible to the passage not remembering what it would say. And here is what it said: Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so. Suddenly, the silence that manifested in that room was almost over whelming! The right thing was decided to do that day. Sometimes the only point that needs to be presented is the word of God. It is still the truth whether we want to obey it or not. And I just dropped the mic!
